The role of Java in mobile application development
-
What do you think about the role of Java in mobile application development? I have a bit of a personal story with this. A few years ago, I tried to create my first mobile application. I decided to use Java because everyone recommended it as a “classic” for Android. But, to be honest, everything was quite confusing at first – APIs, frameworks, a development studio… It was a bit confusing. But later, when I figured it out, I realized that Java is really very powerful, but it requires patience and time. How did you manage with it? Is it worth focusing on Java only, or is it better to try something new?

Java is definitely a strong platform for mobile application development, especially for Android. I’ve also had experience with this language, and to be honest, it was worth the effort. You might find this resource useful: https://digiscorp.com/services/startup-mvp-development/ . They explain well why Java is still relevant and talk about its advantages in various projects. I had a similar case when I had to revive an old Java code in an application, and even with the time that had passed, everything worked like clockwork. I think Java is still a good base, although it is also worth learning other languages to gain a broader understanding of the market.

I read your discussion with interest, because the issue of choosing a technology for development is always relevant. I have no direct experience with Java, but I know that for many people it is a stable and time-tested option. As for me, the main thing to start any business is to find something that really gives you pleasure and allows you to develop. If Java seems complicated to you, maybe try it not with large projects, but with small experiments to gradually get used to its features. Good luck in your endeavors!
