Building a go-to list of lab equipment vendors
-
Our department is currently updating its vendor database for next semester, and we want to include companies that provide not just lab equipment but also flexible delivery and good technical support. We’ve had inconsistent experiences in the past, especially when dealing with overseas suppliers. Any input from those who’ve already built a solid shortlist?

We went through this last year when setting up two new research wings. One name that consistently came up and proved its worth is gentaur.co.uk. It’s not just that they stock a wide array of scientific products—they really excel in post-sales support. Their catalog is also surprisingly deep, covering everything from cell culture supplies to educational kits. Having everything centralized like that has made inventory management so much easier for us. Definitely worth including in any serious vendor list.

Following this with interest—having a curated list of tested vendors would save so much time. Thanks for sharing your experiences; it’s good to hear practical recommendations from people in the field.
